All Good Men
...is a comedy of manners and a political fable for our
times. A Labour party conference is shocked by the sudden death of a popular
Labour prime minister - and the struggle for the leadership begins between
aristocratic health minister Sir Marcus Bridgewater and working class cabinet
bulldog Peter Porter. Only sexy Lady Bridgewater and naive young journalist
Simon Bloom can make the difference. This play was shown as part of a
double bill called Sex & Politics, which played to full houses at The
Carriageworks in Leeds and also ran at the Victoria Hall, Saltaire.

Till My Eyes Bleed
In this dark comedy, the theatre has been
hired for a wake by well-meaning Mel for his dead friend – the
womanising ad man Adrian. But it soon becomes obvious Mel is missing
the point – the truth about the relationship between his wife
and his best friend. Will he guess what it is? Or will he continue
to believe in marriage… and in bonuses for bankers?
Till My Eyes Bleed was part
of a double bill Money Double with Helen Shay's The
Malteser Falcon, in Wakefield and Leeds, but shown separately at
the Ilkley Literature Festival. Click on the poster for more

Life Sentence
...is part of a double bill of drama called
Body Double. It shared
the honours with Fit Piece by Helen Shay. In Helen's play, a sinister man menaces a young woman at a gym. In
my play, an irate woman threatens her unfaithful man with a meat cleaver. A nice
contrast! First run of the show played in both Leeds (at The Carriageworks) and
Pontefract. Click on the poster to see newspaper coverage. |
